Hello Jeannine,
We've considered doing this ourselves, but wondered how successful of a program it would be in terms of the kits actually returning to the museum?..how long should the loan period be?..Should we create multiple kits of a program? etc. Please share thoughts on line.
Thanks,
Regina Hall

Greetings,

Several years ago, my colleagues at Liberty Science Center and I discussed the idea of putting together kits of hands-on?items that would be checked out to an individual or family in order to enhance their visit to the center. The idea was to give them "new eyes" to see and use exhibits in different ways.

Does anyone out there do this? I'm thinking of kits based around magnifiers, prisms, etc for use in the museum or at home. I know about kits/trunks prepared for teachers but I'm more interested in experiences with kids or parents.

Thanks,
Jeannine Finton
