ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers

Agreed - for most science center functions. However, there are two places where it would be more critical to appear more conservative: Development and Private Events.

As "fuddy duddy" as it seems to us, the private events clientele I have worked with have generally expected staff working their events to be well-dressed, sans piercings, brightly colored hair or deep cleavage. As far as Development goes, again, expectations of the audience count - would you go to a banker asking for money looking conservative or "artsy"?
