My experience  with temp agency employees was not the best in the  
world.  We had serious problems with carelessness and reliability.  If  
a worker didn't show up, the temp agency was happy to send someone  
else, but that could take hours.   We ultimately developed a cadre of  
workers who were practicing artists, amenable to a few weeks of  
supplementary income every quarter.  Although more expensive, you  
might try the local stage hand unions, depending on what your needs are.
