deadline for the Society for Historical Archaeology pre-conference
workshops at Long Beach will be extended from December 1 to December 15,
2000.  These workshops will be held on or depart from the Queen Mary,
Wednesday, January 10th, 2001.  Workshop topics are archaeological
contracting, archaeological illustration, GIS in archaeology,forensic
bioarchaeology, remote operated vehicles for underwater archaeology, and
cultural tourism.  Complete descriptions, times and prices are available on
