John (and Tammi-Lynn), HISTARCH is on historical archaeology, not the history
of archaeology. Historical archaeology deals with people that write down their
history in documents, or other written form. It is generally post-Columbian in
the New World, and post-Botany Bay in Australia. Some view historical
archaeology as the archaeology of the European expansion. It is not a "library
list" (whatever that is). We have discussed material ranging from material
culture (glass, beads, buttons, and other artifacts), to actual site types
such as mines, CCC camps, and other areas of activity (including outhouses).
