> List members might be interested in this Call for Papers (http://www.spma.org.uk/events/bremerhaven2017/ <http://www.spma.org.uk/events/bremerhaven2017/>) for a joint conference from the UK Society for Post-Medieval Archaeology and the German Society for Medieval and Post-Medieval Archaeology (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Archäologie des Mittelalters und der Neuzeit, DGAMN) on New Directions and Approaches for Late Medieval and Post-Medieval Archaeology in Germany, Britain and Ireland.
>
> Both societies pursue similar goals, and the main objective of this conference is to bring the two organisations and their members closer together in order to facilitate potential future collaborations and projects. The focus of the conference will be the similarities and differences in approaches practised on both sides of the North Sea. Papers will offer opportunities to engage with the current state of research and future directions for the archaeology of the late medieval and post-medieval (including modern) periods in Germany, Britain and Ireland. Paper suggestions should relate to one (or more) of the following core themes:
>
> Theoretical and methodological approaches
> Cultural Heritage Management
> Material Culture Studies
> Maritime Archaeology
>
> Further information is available at http://www.spma.org.uk/events/bremerhaven2017/ <http://www.spma.org.uk/events/bremerhaven2017/>
>
> The conference will take place at the German Maritime Museum in Bremerhaven on 20 – 22 September 2017, and the Call for Papers closes on 30 April. Queries and paper proposals should be directed to Dr Natascha Mehler at [log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]>
