The Schwann Opus catalog is a good reference for recorded works for
trombone currently available.  Having interviewed some years ago for a
newspaper article the noted Norwegian trombonist Per-Christian Brevig, I
am somewhat biased in his favor, but his recording of the Concerto for
Trombone and Orchestra by Walter Ross should knock your socks off.

There was also a while back a CD of Brevig and others performing Robert
Starer's bouncy Concerto a 3 for Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone and Strings.
I don't think you will have a problem finding recordings to inspire your
students.
