Recorded music is much more meaningful to me when it is a work I have
seen performed in the concert hall and can visualize the players in my
mind while listening to the recording.  In the days when the radio used
to broadcast concerts the week after the perfomance, it was particularly
thrilling to visualize what was going on on stage when it was a performance
I had attended.
