Janos Gereben:

>Just got a couple of CDs of his compositions, with a note from EMI,

>that I never heard of him?

No, and the claim is a stretch. His popularity stems from an adaptation
he made of his piece "Palladio" for a television advertisement for
diamonds. He went to the Royal Academy of Music and became known for
his jazz oboe and saxaphone playing.
