The beethoven quartet were the first to record these quartets.  I have
a problem with the sound.They were recorded from old radio broadcasts so
the sound is not stereo.  I feel they are definitely worth a listen.  My
favorites are the shostakovich, eder and first recordings by borodin.  I
have not heard the emerson or manhattan so I look forward to your reviews.
