I thought that it was Baudrier rather than Aubin, but I take this
opportunity to encourage curious-minded listers to watch for a release of
Aubin's "Romantic symphony" (his first). It was written in memory of Paul
Dukas, and although it may sound very traditional and rhetorical at first,
it encloses genuinely felt beauty, and vigorously stated as well. Among
Aubin's students was Talivaldis Kenins, whose style obviously is far from
Aubin's but who has always kept much affection and admiration for this
competent and open-minded master.
