I have not read any earlier post in this thread. I must say that I
get quite disgusted with my two NPR stations (all talk of the very banal
"intellectual" type, very banal) telling me all day long just how wonderful
they are. In fact the almost omnipresent BBC news tells me the same,
how profound and thorough they are. The fact is, Karl, that I do listen
to both a good deal in want of much choice.

I have never in my life tuned in to the current guy who was fired and
who may go to satellite radio along with Stern. Satellite radio ads
tell us all the time that they feature Stern, Oprah, and Martha Stewart.
Is this supposed to entice me?

As to my two Classical Music stations on FM here in Southern N.J.,
one is Philly, I am actually quite happy with them. OK, they play very
little baroque music. However on the whole they do play a great many
things that to me are very worthwhile and not only very standard repertoire.
Now I am not myself very fascinated with much of the music that seems
to be central to the list members here.

I am interested however in Classical Music outside of the very often
repeated material but not at the expense of the latter. My stations
do that well and I have no complaints.

Cheers,
Yoel
