Well, true, but usually if you're paying that much for a bow you have a
pretty nice fiddle too.  I think it is actually unusual that the bow is
worth more than the instrument, but it is not unusual to find bows worth
$20,000 or more.

I have had funny experiences in taxis, when the driver wants me to put the
cello in the trunk, and I say no, it should go in the back seat, it's worth
about ten times as much as your car!  That shuts 'em up!
