I love Previn's recording of the Strauss 4 Last Songs....but maybe more
for Arleen Auger than for Previn himself....Although the Heldenleben and
his coupling of Don Juan/Don Quixote (all on Telarc) would lead me to
believe that he is an excellent Strauss conductor.  Also, his recordings
of Shostakovich and British composers (esp.  Walton and Vaughan Williams)
are stunning.
