That's a very limiting point of view.  I'm aware that a particular symphony
orchestra might well be considered to have a certain repertoire as a strong
point.  However, I think that a world-class orchestra would provide a wide
variety of music to its audience.  It's the smaller musical entities that
would truely specialize.  That's the sensible method.

If an orchestra's "specialty" was French romantic orchestral music, is the
population expected to hear a steady diet of this music?  I consider that
approach totally unreasonable.
