Well...seems ol' Nigel never did like the name 'Nigel' and (as of maybe a
year ago) henceforth wants to be known as "Kennedy". Now: I'm not saying
the man can't play (liked his Elgar Concerto on EMI). And certainly he's
not the only "one-namer" in CM (Solomon jumps to mind). But I can't
decide: is this pretention or pop? Seems, by above comments, that its pop
aspect is working for him. Is this helping make CM cool? Is Kennedy cool?

I am frustrated by the contention that cool=sex. Perhaps "cool" has too
many connotations to be discussed specifically. The Fonz was "cool", but
not like the Spice Girls. John Cage is cool, but not like the Fonz.

My best understanding of the origins of "cool" were that, during
prohibition, when the cops were the "heat" [they still are I reckon],
a place with no "heat" was "cool". Anyone refute this please? [Please
respond to Bob privately on this topic. -Dave]
