Deryk Barker wrote of the Simpson symphonies:

>Some of the earlier recordings were subsidised by the Rex Foundation,
>were they not?

A quick check reveals two - the CD of 2nd and 4th, and the 9th. Another
had a grant from the GB Arts Council.

Further to the 11th, the Robert Simpson Society's web page some time back
said:

"Please note that the London Premiere of Simpson's 11th Symphony,
with Matthew Taylor (its dedicatee) conducting, will take place on
   October 4 1999."

I haven't checked to see if there's been an update but I wondered if there
was a review in any of the UK papers.
