Jim has been a pillar of the Washington State beekeeping community for as long as I can remember, well over 35 years. Long after retiring from his position as state apiarist he continued to contribute tirelessly of his time and energy to the Washington State Beekeepers Assoc.. All who knew him know that he was never shy about offering an opinion or entering the fray. He was a great friend of mine and of all Washington State beekeepers. He will be sorely missed and long remembered.
