No, I guess I hoped that Marion did.  We do know that talc is so fine as to be a problem.  On the other hand, the chalk used by carpenter's is a handy way of temporarily marking bees, and it stays more on the surface of the hairs.  We did experiments this summer using chalk as a carrier.  In caged bees, after 3 days, there was no mortality from the chalk.

Did you ever look at Beekeeper induced "dust" in the form of sugar dusting
for Varroa and its effect on bees?
