Although a little Boccherini can go a long way, I've had a fondness for
his chamber works for many years. I have about 10 Boccherini chamber
discs, all on period instruments. But, I don't have any of his symphonies
and am unfamiliar with them. Three questions:

1. Overall, are they worthy of purchase?
2. Do they compare well in quality to the chamber works?
3. Which recordings do you recommend? I'm aware of Pople on Hyperion,
Goritzki on Claves, Tafelmusik on DHM and Sony, and Scimone on Erato.
Period instrumentation is not necessary, although Tafelmusik looks most
attractive at this point.
