Janos Gereben describes Peter Schreier's performance of the Wintereise
cycle as "joyous".  That sounds quite impossible.  The cycle is about
despair and madness - about as joyous as Wozzeck.  Yet Janos is a reliable
observer of the music scene.  What am I missing?
