Kevin Sutton asked about recordings of three Korngold works: Der Ring des
Polykrates, Der Schneemann, and Die Kathrin.

"Der Ring", a one-act opera, is on a single CPO disc (999402). Die Kathrin
is on a 3cd CPO set (999602). Selections from Der Schneemann are available
on CPO (999037) and Chandos (9631). Ny understanding is that Der Schneemann
consists only of incidental music, but I have not heard it. The two operas
are very good and essential for Korngold fans.

I'd like to say more, but I'm suppposed to stay in bed all weekend to
recover from foot surgery. ALONE in bed - no activity. But, I go to the
computer whenever my wife's out buying the stuff I usually buy, excepting
for cds.

Always Following Orders,

Don Satz
