Yes, and Schubert was a lesbian.

There's been an effort by minority activists the past 10-15 years
to provide role models for minority youths by claiming that various
individuals were in fact black, gay, etc.  Sometimes with some evidence,
many times with no evidence.  Doing this fills a valid psychological need
to improve group esteem (heck, look how hard Austrians have sold the idea
that Beethoven was Austrian and Hitler German).  H/e, what makes it rather
sad and humorous is that most American blacks have in their backgrounds
far more "white blood" than these activists claim Beethoven and others had
"black blood." A big thing going on for a while, I assume it still is, was
to present as fact that biblical era Egyptians and Jews and Romans were
black, and that therefore Western Culture is really black culture stolen
by a bunch of ofay scandinavians.
