I can tell you that the anesthesia department where I word steadfastly denies any
connection between epidurals and disorganized suck.  In fact, when giving
informed consent info to patients, they state that the epidural does not affect
the baby at all and does not adversely affect labor in any way.

There is NO excuse for having a patient sign a consent for an epidural AFTER the
procedure.
