I agree.  I had read bad things about the series (I think one was the
article in the New York Times you mention), bemoaning how dumbed down the
programs were.  But I saw the Mahler episode the other night and thought
it was just fine.  If I wanted to turn a friend on to Mahler, I think that
that program would be a fine choice.
