I don't know for Vaughan Willams 3, but there are some places where people
tend to fall asleep: them wonderful father-daughter dialogue between Wotan
and Brunhilda in "Die Walkuere", is such a place...and thoise who fall
asleep there should really burn in hell!  (This has perhaps not right with
your discussion to do, but I for once wanted to say it).
