I agree that it is his best - in fact I would consider it the single
greatest US symphony.

FWIW, people might like to know that the Victoria Symphony, under incoming
music director Kees Bakels ("one of the most exciting young conductors on
the scene today" ARG) will be playing Ives' 1st on March 21/22.  (They did
the 2nd a couple of years back).
