All I'm thinking is that the Op.87 demands a pianist who is a formidable
Bach interpreter; after all, DSCH wrote them specifically for such
a pianist. On the face of it, Ashkenazy doesn't fit the bill.

But then again, maybe he'll prove himself to be some kind of a wild-card,
and I'll be happy to be proven wrong.
