Dear all,

in October 2023 the department of prehistory and historical archaeology at Tübingen University, Germany, starts teaching a Master in Archaeology in English language. The MA is simply called "Archaeology" but students can chose to do historical archaeology only, if they want. The program runs for two academic years and ends with a submission and viva of the Masters thesis (which can be on any topic, not specifically a German topic). 

IMPORTANT: the tuition fee is 1500 Euro per academic year (means the entire Master program is 3000 Euros)! 

In the most recent QS World University Rankings 2023, the archaeology department of the University of Tübingen once again took first place in Germany (No. 12 worldwide). Tübingen University is one of the oldest universities in Germany and one of the 11 Ivy League universities of Germany. The city is located in Southwest Germany and it's an extremely pretty and good place to live. The department of archaeology is located in the castle of Hohentübingen which also hosts archaeometry, palaeoanthropology, egyptology, classical archaeology and near eastern archaeology and thus students can chose from a variety of topics and courses. 

APPLICATION DEADLINE for non-EU applicants is 15 July.
