Kristie,

This is wonderful - a great way to work with the community. May I ask which
badges you are able to give and what sorts of activities you create for
each?

I used to love the badge program of Brownies and Girl Guides. My mother was
a leader for 25+ years and wrote a magazine filled with activities I have
now been modifying for the Inquiring Minds program. How wonderful it would
be if schools and other youth organizations would adopt a similar program.
It seems to be an effective way to promote learning and understanding.
Though I realize the reward/punishment mode of teaching/parenting is now
politically uncorrect, or simply seen as wrong, the reward aspect certainly
seems to work and since everyone benefits I don't see that harm in using it
to promote learning.

Best,
Amanda
