Just got back from vacation and got caught up on mail. These are really
great ideas. Science Central hosts an Egg Day every year just before
Easter. Here's a few of our most popular activities:

1. Bungee Jumping Eggs - visitors get an egg and have two 1" pieces of tape
and as many rubber bands as they want. Then they design a way to bungee
jump it into a tub of water without breaking it. Closest to the water wins.
2. Eggstacle Course - visitors have to complete 3 of 4 obstacles
successfully without breaking their egg. They get several items to use.
It's sort of a McGyverish activity.
3. another good one is the Eggstention Bridge - visitors have to construct
a bridge designed to transport an egg over an open space of 1/2 a meter.
The egg may get a gentle push to start, but must continue successfully
across on its on after that. It's a messy one. But they are determined!

Thanks for the great ideas all.

What's your favorite cool science activity that involves eggs? I'm trying to
get a bunch together (not for Easter, but for National Egg Month, which is
May!)

I admit I have never tried the classic "egg on the mouth of a jar, drop in a
match, egg gets sucked in." And I've never tried it because no one has ever
been able to satisfactorily answer the question "And how do you get the egg
out?" So I'd love answers to that, and also other suggestions for some
egg-sellent fun!

Thanks for you sugg-egg-stions.
