As many of you know, Earl Wild's recordings have been circulating on
Ivory Classics. I went into the company's website today to order a disc
of Goyescas by Granados and immediately was greeted with the news that
Wild's newest offering is now available.

Well, the offering isn't exactly new. It's an all-Schumann disc of
Wild from concert performances in 1983 and 1987. The program consists
of Papillons, Piano Sonata Op.11, and the Waldszenen. This disc now
complements his other Schumann disc on Ivory which has the Symphonic
Etudes, Toccata, and Fantasy in C.

I bring this up because I consider Wild a superb Schumann performing
artist. So, take the plunge and look up the Ivory Classics website.
It's user friendly and has big letters for those of us who don't have
the perfect vision we once possessed. My current crop of eye equipment
includes contact lenses, prescription glasses(out-of-date), designer
sunglasses(Ray-Ban), three pairs of reading glasses at home, two in the
office, and one in the car. I feel like a walking advertisement for the
eye-care industry, and it thorougly disgusts me. Fortunately, my vision
improves appreciably when an appealing female is in my line-of-sight.
That means that I see much better when I'm with my wife.
