Well, it looks like the sun is coming out today after all!  I just had to
share since I posted earlier today about the cards that were stacked against
breastfeeding moms here today, that I've found a few new cards!  First,
thanks to those who have sent good thoughts my way.  I told one person who
responded that this could be called "mothering the lc".  Sometimes we need
information, sometimes suggestions, sometimes insight and sometimes plain
old sympathy and support.  How unique that we can find all those things in
this forum!  It has sure brightened my day.  Now, the new cards:  I got a
call from a doc at a hospital I used to work for.  It seems a mother whom I
had helped while there has had another baby.  This mom had a cleft palate
baby (how coincidental!) and managed to pump and feed EBM only a few weeks
before giving up, but now she has a new baby with no cleft problems and
wants my help breastfeeding this one.  So, I'm going over after I get off
work here (the other hospital has no LC since they lost funding for my
position)!  And, it appears there will be a changing of the guard in our
nursery here that could potentially be very good for breastfeeding (if they
appoint the person we hope they will), which just goes to show: if you can't
change them, outlast them!
