As a volunteer breastfeeding supporter, I find the idea of cot cards from a
pump company *just as unacceptable* as cot cards from a manufacturer of
formula milk. These companies have a direct interest in the choices women
make about feeding their babies.

I have said it before, but when I finally got the international money order
and subscribed to JHL (I had never seen a whole journal before, just
reprints) I was utterly taken aback to discover ads for pump companies in
it. Since I am not an IBCLC I have not taken the trouble to approach ILCA
with my reflections, but it certainly made a huge impact on how I regard the
profession. (I think at that time I might still have had thoughts of trying
to obtain the qualification.)

Oh -- before we start -- supplying pumps for women, esp hospital grade pumps
for hire, is quite a different issue. I am talking about ADVERTISING and
the ASSOCIATION it creates. Of course, having recently read No Logo, I
suspect that I am a dinosaur on this one, in our sponsored, logoed, company
owned world.
