27 - 28 February 2001

"Involving people in heritage"

Join in on this exciting new concept to get people from around Australia talking
about heritage and community issues!
· Five themes - each with a convenor and short discussion starter
· Two lunchtime debates
· At the end of the conference, read each convenor's summary
The Australian Heritage Commission and Australia ICOMOS have been gathering
information on recent heritage projects where local communities and groups have
been involved. To help build resources and networks, we are developing a web
site which includes a conference/discussion facility, a Taking Action Guide and
a database of projects from around Australia.
The site will kick off with the online conference. Anyone can contribute and
discuss ideas around selected themes over two days. You can stay online as much
or as little as you want over this time. You can simply observe the discussions,
or get actively involved.
For more information, or to register for the online forums and conference, visit
