I agree with Jeffrey; Mozart's concerto no. 24 is one of my favorite
classical works and definitely my favorite Mozart piano concerto. The
Moravec/Marriner recording is mighty fine mainly due to Moravec's
contributions; its coupling, no. 25, is well done also.
Moravec/Marriner/Hanssler also released a more recent recording having
concertos 20 and 23. I'm very glad to have both cd's; they get a lot of
playing time in my home. Moravec, from what I can gather, is not an artist
who performs large volumes of compositions. He tends to hone in on one
work at a time, becomes intimately familiar with it, then performs it.
He's a splendid pianist equally at home in Debussy, Chopin, and Mozart.
His Chopin Noctures on Nonesuch is another superb recording.
