What's warmth? I ask this because I have found many works sufficiently warm
although many others find them quite cool or icy. Some people think I'm
not a warm person, but I think I'm hot.

Concerning the Faure chamber works, I first met their acquaintance when my
dad, not far from death, bequeathed to me a few of his lp's which included
a set of Faure's chamber works. I remember thinking well of the set at the
time. I've listened once to the new recordings I bought, and I don't find
any lack of warmth. In fact, I find these works excellent and compelling.
Logically, I understand Ulvi's "icy" opinion, but emotionally I don't feel
it.

For what it's worth, I'm finding Faure an excellent companion while driving
my car. This may sound odd but there's a flow to his chamber music which
is just right for my driving regimen. Even my wife liked it. I asked her
what country she thought the composer originated from, and she actually
said "France". I think she's been holding back some musical insights from
me. But, she has been reading a book concerning the French Revolution, and
that could account for the new found light bulb.
