Hi Jeff,
Yes, we are adjusting to the new standards (in fact, as a new one-year-old institution, we actually held off on developing school trip programs until we knew how they would be implemented in Massachusetts).

The initiative may or may not affect field trips for a variety of reasons.

First, in some communities, content may simply shift from one grade to another (in others, it may be a total curriculum revamping). You may, therefore, see different grades visiting.

Second, as long as gas prices and bus rentals go up, field trips will always be affected.

Third, we may all see an initial drop as principals and superintendents wait to see how the standards are playing out with their students.

Fourth, there is a strong movement towards "time on task", which, as you know, is a stake in the heart of field trips.

That's my 2-cents!
Beryl
