ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

Here are two museum chemistry programs to check out:

1. The Chem Lab at Impression 5 Science Center in Lansing, MI. The lab has
been open for nearly twenty years; thousands have learned about making
polymers and other chemistry during that time.

2. The drop-in chemistry activities at OMSI in Portland. They have a lab
that usually has several wet chemistry activities set up that visitors can do on
an unscheduled basis. There is always a staff member in the lab to provide
any support or assistance needed. I believe they also have a manual of
activities for museums that want to set up their own lab.

3. The Smithsonian Museum of American History has a science lab where
families can do wet chemistry and other activities.

Another unrelated reference: the chem demo books developed by Bassam
Shakhashiri of the University of Wisconsin are classics and have widely used chem
demos, many of which can be adapted for use in museums.
