Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

Matthew,
Part of my work is as a researcher at the University
of Washington's Human Interface Technology Lab (HITLab)
where we look at lots of computer modeling and Virtual Reality
technologies to aid folks in understanding processes and
inter-relationships. This includes a fair amount of work in
visualizing and manipulating virtual 3D images. We have done
work with a number of museums (Seattle Art Museum and
Boston Museum of Science) on exhibit elements to see things
they can''t experience directly or in real time.
This might be an approach you might want to consider
if you can't find a physical analog for the experience.
