ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

We're excited to announce the first ASTC Connect forum dedicated to sharing community engagement resources developed by members of ASTC's Public Engagement with Science (PES) community of practice.

From April 30 through May 11, Nurture Nature Center will be presenting "From Risk to Resiliency." Nurture Nature Center is a science-based community center for dialogue about local environmental risk. Using a blend of science, art, and dialogue, they offer programming about environmental risks that people care about in their community. They'll be sharing information on their forum programming, which adapts the community forum model in use by other science centers by focusing on an acute environmental risk topic to rivet community attention. The intent of the forum model is to ground discussions on sound science and to deliberate for improved community resiliency.

To join the discussion, go to our PES Community of Practice site on Connect<http://connect.astc.org/course/view.php?id=60> (http://connect.astc.org/course/view.php?id=60) and click on the "enroll in this course" link on the left-hand side of the screen. Then look for the "From Risk to Resiliency" forum, enter, and click "subscribe to this forum".

Please contact Kate Crawford at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> if you have any questions.
