ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers

Hey All,

Does anyone know if there are a collection of wind tunnel studies on
visitor impacts of "wind tunnel" use? It would be best if it were
across various institutions. (I haven't done a search.)

We've done wind tunnels in various ways over the years and they've
been technology dependent from an approach standpoint. Neutrally
buoyant, helium filled bubbles sounds like a very cool tool and
exhibit in themselves.

We don't have much on the floor now, though we do have a number of
popular "air moving" exhibits. We've switch over to water flow
troughs by in-large to show streamlines and vortices, and a wide
range of visitors enjoy getting their hands wet, but extending their
observations to other fluids (like gases) is probably problematic: a
small step in knowledge that may or may not add to other experiences.
