ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

I heard a rumor that Wright was not permitted to build in New York when he was a young architect (probably the beaurocracy of codes, etc.) Anyway, eventually he got famous and was commissioned to do the Guggenheim. It was (at the time) a controversial design which was perceived as being ugly by many and was dubbed "Wright's Revenge" for the earlier snub.

Anyone out there know if this is true or just a wondeful urban legend?
