I wouldn't recommend that she gives large amounts, but I do have to ask - how likely is it that just giving a teaspoonful or two of food a day, after or mid-feed rather than right before, is going to cause a well-established milk supply to drop? I'm pretty dubious that it would be a problem. 

What studies on gut health were you thinking of?
