Hi,
A couple of months ago I posted about induced lactation for a mum from Pakistan who somehow got my number in Northern Ireland!!! I passed on some info to her but could not help her re the medications she was looking for. Last Tuesday by chance I discovered that domperidone/motillium is available over the counter in the UK. It is fairly affordable but much cheaper if a Dr will prescribe it. I have emailed the mum from Pakistan and she has found a Dr there she is working with on inducing lactation thank goodness. Thought this info might be of use to other LC's in the UK. Normally I would never think of using it, however a mum I am supporting with slow weight gain seems to have a problem with stress reducing her supply. She tried herbs and felt they did not work. So she suggested domperidone herself. I hope it works for her. I think if baby puts on weight well she will relax and hopefully her supply will improve too without meds.
Best wishes and Happy New Year,
Sarah.
