Living near Atlanta, GA means being bombarded with Olympic hype day after
day. But there was a little piece in this morning's newspaper that made my
day and I thought it might make yours, too! Here's the entire piece as
published in the Atlanta Constitution:

MOM-FRIENDLY STADIUM
Breast-feeding moms will have a place to nurse their babies at the Olympic
stadium, thanks to a query by a Buckhead mom. Lynda Chapman, with second
baby, Garrett, was exchanging Braves tickets earlier this year and wondered
if she would have a private place to feed him at the new stadium. So she
called Turner Broadcasting System, which owns the Braves, to see how the
restrooms would be equipped.
Turner vice president Janet Marie Smith thanked her for her suggestion and
said benches would be added to the restrooms in an isolated corner.
The End.

Okay, okay...we all agree that nursing moms shouldn't have to retreat to an
isolated area to breastfeed, but at least TBS was sensitive to a
breastfeeding mom's needs and at least someone thought it newsworthy enough
to give TBS a plug in the newspaper.
I plan to send kudos to Janet Marie Smith via fax# 404-827-3384 (no e-mail
#). If she gets a lot of positive responses, maybe the word will get out and
more companies will consider the needs of breastfeeding moms to be worthy of
public relation's attention.

Best to all,
Diana
