When questioning whether ibuprofen is decreasing milk supply, the question
must be asked, why is she taking ibuprofen in the first place? Usually
that''s for some type of pain. Chronic pain causes chronic release and
sometimes exhaustion of the adrenals and adrenalin response. Adrenaline
counteracts the action of smooth muscle (decreases digestive rates, slows
contractions in labor, slows MER) Could not the true problem be whatever is
causing the pain? Treat the cause of the pain, maybe chiropractic, massage
therapy, physical therapy, etc. and you don't have the adrenal response plus
don't need pain or antiinflammatory meds. You have better MER, better breast
emptying and the autocrine response picks up and breast output increases.
Remember, the true cause of a problem may not be the obvious surface cause
but a deeper root problem so dig deeper and pull out the root if you can!
