Pat,
How about an OTC (over the counter) antacid that is calcium carbonate based?
T-ms is one common brand. The extra calcium won't hurt, and it would not give
the baby difficulties. Otherwise, an old "tried and true" remedy for gi pain
from ulcer or irritable bowel is donnatal (phenobarbitol and atropine, in tiny
doses). In large doses, belladonna alkaloids reduce all secretions, but she
might have minimal effect from the small amount in donnatal.
What do our physician and pharmacist colleagues think?
