In Truro (on Cape Cod of Massachusetts) a mother of a 2.5 year old girl was
found stabbed in her home, and had been dead as long as 36 hours when
discovered:

"Former boyfriend Tim Arnold, who said he was friends with [victim]
Worthington, told the Herald Monday night that he found Worthington lying in
the blood-splattered hall with Ava lying on top of her nursing."

This is an absolutely heartbreaking mental image. I only hope that she was
able to get some comfort from nursing during the hours before help arrived.
