My own experience with the don quai

It's important to keep in mind that this is not a story about dong quai,
but just about some swelling that occurred, and mentioning one of hundreds
of variables which were present at the time (including the other
ingredients in the tea).

I don't know the effect of maternal dong quai ingestion on a baby, but it
is unlikely the dong quai caused the joint swelling. Dong quai is a common
herb, taken by perhaps millions of women in doses much higher than this,
apparently without ill effect, or at least nothing so dramatic.
